INVISALIGN®AN OVERVIEW

The first step in the Invisalign process is a consultation with Dr. Furgurson in our Chapel Hill dental office. Once he’s determined Invisalign is right for you, Dr. Furgurson will create a customized treatment plan. We will take an impression of your teeth and send them to the Invisalign laboratory to have a series of custom, clear aligners made for your teeth.

You will receive your custom sets of aligners that are changed out about every two weeks to gradually reposition the teeth. The length of treatment depends on your condition as well as your goals. Generally speaking, treatment takes 6 to 9 months, but some patients may achieve the results they want in as few as 3 or 4 months, while some may need a year or more.

A retainer and follow up visits with Dr. Furgurson will help ensure you maintain your straighter smile for years to come.
